Labor Market trends in Washington State

This presentation will inform conference participants about the overall labor market trends in Washington state and some of the demographic trends that underlie the overall statistics.  Major points covered will include dynamics of the labor force over time and what the unemployment rate does and does not actually tell us.  Payroll employment trends will also be covered, with highlights of some industry trends during and after the Great Recession.  Demographic information and challenges will be addressed largely in this section, as challenges vary from industry to industry.  Additional labor market information and tools such as wage trends and “real time LMI” will also be addressed.
