For the first time, beginning January 1, 2018, all Washington employers will be required to provide every employee with mandated paid sick and safe leave. This is thanks to Initiative 1433’s paid leave provisions, which are in some respects more generous than the mandates of Seattle, Tacoma, and Spokane, so even employers in municipalities with current leave laws need to consider whether their policies will still be compliant.

Make sure you are one step ahead of these changes by learning about:

    • The definitions of “family member” and other terms under I-1433
    • Key concepts of accrual, usage, and covered leave
    • The effect of I-1433 on local paid leave laws
    • Updates on the draft proposed enforcement language for I-1433
