Managing Conflict
- Learn the types of conflict and the approaches to dealing with conflict
- Learn the five basic approaches to dealing with conflict and strategies to determine when each strategy is most effective
- Discuss miscommunication, strong emotions, stereotyping, and repetitive negative behaviors
- Suggestions on creating an atmosphere of respect and dignity among team members to facilitate a healthy environment

Course Objectives
- Understanding and preventing “abusive conduct,” recognizing the cost of harassing and discriminatory conduct in the workplace, and realizing the benefits of prevention
- Enhancement of practical skills used in preventing, addressing and correcting abusive, harassing and discriminatory conduct in the workplace
- Increasing leadership effectiveness and employee relations effectiveness

- Developing a practical understanding of “abusive conduct,” harassment, discrimination and retaliation, as defined under the law
- A manager’s heightened role in responding to and preventing potentially offensive or abusive conduct, unlawful harassing and discriminatory conduct, and/or retaliation in the workplace
