    Description:

The economy is rebounding and companies are revisiting their inorganic growth strategies with merger and acquisition (M&A) activity in 2016 expected to exceed prior records. Almost every type of M&A involves people, meaning that HR should be intimately involved in the process.  This session will provide an overview of the M&A process and specific areas of concern for HR practitioners.

In this session, Klint Kendrick will share general knowledge and best practices gained from several years of working in HR M&A. The slides, which can be made available to participants, will include links to non-proprietary resources that HR practitioners can use as a starting point for their own M&A and integration work.

    Presenter:

Klint Kendrick, Ph.D., MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, has worked in human resources for nearly two decades, with experience in areas related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A), international HR, compliance, employee engagement, workforce planning, recruitment, retention, equal employment opportunity (EEO), and cultural diversity and inclusion.  Dr. Kendrick has worked in several environments, ranging from leadership roles at established aerospace and defense companies to being an HR-department-of-one for scrappy dot-com era start ups.  He also provides pro bono HR and people consulting to non-profit organizations serving marginalized communities.

Klint holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and a master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology along with an MBA from California State University Dominguez Hills.  He has earned designations as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Senior Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP).  He is a Six Sigma Green Belt.

In addition to facilitating and presenting at workshops for local non-profit organizations, Dr. Kendrick has been a featured speaker at the Seattle Leadership Conference and on several college campuses.  His comments have been featured in EEO-Insights (a referred journal for diversity professionals), DiversityInc Magazine, Technical Recruiter Magazine, the New York Post, and on various HR and leadership blogs.

In his spare time, Klint enjoys spending time with his family, country-western dancing, and reading.
